On the 14th February 2011 I will be performing at The Berlin Film Festival for the Cinema For Peace Award Ceremony at the historic Konzerthaus in Berlin This is another prestigious invitation and I am honoured to be associated with Cinema for Peace.
**********************************************
In October 2010 I was asked to speak about Uganda and the effect of the war in its people at The United Nations in New York. Fortunately a guitar was available and I performed La Lettre - The song says everything I wanted to say and its a powerful way of conveying the message.
This was for the premier of the film Children of War.

**********************************************
I am extremely concerned about the war in my native Uganda and the increased use of children as soldiers in armies across the world. Children deserve to be in schools and in the play ground. Children deserve the love and guidance of adults - not to be thrust into battle.
This is what prompted to write my open letter to Joseph Kony - The leader of the LRA to stop the war and negotiate peace.
Here is the letter. Please copy the lyrics and pass them on to your friends, relatives and anyone that you thing can help either Uganda or help end the conscriptiopn and abduction of children across the globe.(Remember to include the web site link www.geoffrey-oryema.com .
Also show your support by buying the album and attending Geoffrey Oryema concerts where I will be performing La Lettre, Bombs Are Falling and Tribal War - all the songs that address this very subject.
